Jennifer's book, The Streets, My Cradle is the bomb!!! I know I can get through anything after reading about what she went through.~Yvonne (JazzY), Los Angeles
I fell into a deep depression. I was about to go out and do something wrong. I headed to the door and saw "The Streets, My Cradle" on the table. I picked it up, I started glancing through it and changed my mind about getting loaded. Jennifer's story really lifted my spirits.~Lynette, Los Angeles
Dr. Thema S. Bryant-Davis, Assoc. Prof. of Psychology at Pepperdine University, Minister at First AME Church (FAME) and Host of the Dr. Thema Show, Advice Radio.com (air 12 noon every Thursday) 1680 AM quotes:
"Jennifer Jackson's book tells a powerful story that is often not heard but should not be ignored. Her book engages the reader and helps us to see the painful journey of one young woman's struggle with sex trafficking, molestation, and addiction. Ultimately this is a story about healing and recovery. Anyone who cares about the trauma and triumph of girls and women will take important insights from this memoir."

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION FROM;
MARY B. PERRY HIGH SCHOOL, CALIFORNIA YOUTH AUTHORITY VENTURA SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
I was born on an Airforce Base in, Alexandria, Louisiana, England Airforce Base. We moved to California in the 60's.
In the 70's 'while incarcerated in Ventura School for Girls, C.Y.A. (California Youth Authority), I graduated from High School, I attended Ventura Community College. The College Professors taught at the Youth Authority and I took extended courses from the University of Laverne.
Off and on since the 80's I have worked for a number of Grass Roots Organizations to help better the community; The Sons of Watts, Compton NAACP, Job Corps Women In Community Services, Legal Aide of Greater Los Angeles Advisory Board, ACORN, C.O.R.E. (The Congress of Racial Equality) to name a few. I Staffed Hospitals. Feeding the homeless, collecting donations from Atherton Baptist Church, Hawthorne, Ca. such as clothes and cosmetics to distribute to people in Drug Rehabs, Sober Living Homes and different communities since, 1999. During the thirty year drug addiction I went through, I would stand for six months to a year work and do volunteer work for places like those mentioned above. Then fall back down. During that time I made suggestion to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, (Gloria Molina was the Chair of the Board and L. Bayers was the Director of The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services back then) suggestions to help end homelessness and Parenting Classes for all first time parents. Parenting Classes would help cut down on child abuse. My suggestions were sent to what was known then as Propositon 10. They and the Board accepted them and implemented my suggestions into the L.A.County DPSS computer system called LEADER, that started at the end of 2000. I always had a passion to help others, & learned to be a good parent from the many parenting classes I took. I just did not know how to take care of myself emotionally. That's why when problems came up in my life I fell back down and one of the reasons I resorted back to drugs during those times. I never gave up the fight and TODAY:
Well it's been over five years now and I am proud to say that yes, I'm standing, I'm sober, I'm healing, I'm recovering and I know appropriate ways of dealing with my personal problems and how to handle my emotions. Besides being an amazing survivor, of physical and sexual abuse and the many attempts on my life while living the street/fast life; As you can see I'm an Author. I went back to school in 2008, Los Angeles Southwest College. i Graduated from a skill certificate program as a Chemical Dependency Specialist in Criminal Justice in, 2009. At the same college I also got certified as an Anger Management Facilitator. Graduating with a 3.2 GPA. I learned to assist in getting peoples criminal records expunged/dismissed through WLCAC (Watts Labor Community Action Committee) Re-entry Program so that a person who have demonstrated a positive change in their lives can get employment. In 2009, mines was dismissed with the assistance of the staff at WLCAC Re-entry Program and the Attorney who works for WLCAC, Josh. I got certified through Project Return/Mental Health America/ Los Angeles Department of Mental Health as a Peer Advocate, oh yeah, that was in, 2008. On several occasions in person and in writing I had to advocate for monies for Mental Health Programs. Now that's turning a horrible past into blessings! In, 2008/2010, I held the position of Board Member for The California Network of Mental Health Clients, Southern Cal. I am a member of the 33rd Congressional Council. In 2011, I was a member of the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper Book Club. In 2011 I became a member of Families Against Mandatory Minimums, A member of Moveon.org., Let's Talk Survival Group, A Supporter of Operations Smiles they repair lip clefts and palates on children around the world. A supporter of the UDFL (United Develpmental Football League) "Team Players". And I am an Advocate and fighter to help end Child Exploitation/Sex ABUSE since 2007. In, 2011, I participanted in a Womens Leadership Training Program sponsored by A New Way of Life, Los Angeles. Gosh this is a lot, okay more about the new me, 2012, I got further training in Human Trafficking and Cyber Crime through the Inter Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN). I continue my work with California Against Sexual Exploitation, (CASE). Out of my home on line responding to e-mails from youth contemplating running away & parents, etc. I have been guest speaker and or facilitated a group at, View heights IMD, Girls & Gangs and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Women's Re-entry program, Kedren Mental Health, etc.
I have six very wise children four boys and two girls. Five biological grandchildren, three by a marriage of one of my sons. A beautiful daughter in law and son in laws. And a number of children that call me "Mom." I enjoy laughing, telling jokes, shooting pool, fishing, painting, writing, music, dancing in the mirror and one of these days I'm going jet skiing and scuba diving. When I think about my life today, I breathe a big sigh of relief, its not that bad after all, and it surely is better than it use to be, Wala Smiles... Oh yeah, one more thing, one day I won't have to buy flowers for myself...

OR PICK THEM

I'll be completely healed, get married, and have a HUSBAND to buy them for me.
